My Pet Pals Workshops

WHAT’S ON: FREE ‘FIN-TASTIC’ EASTER HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS AT PETS AT HOME

Easter holidays are just around the corner, but that doesn’t mean kids across the UK need to stop learning when they’re outside the classroom. Over the Easter holidays, Pets at Home is hosting free pet workshops nationwide. These workshops offer a range of fun interactive activities to help children learn how to keep animals happy and healthy, with a special focus on fish during these sessions.

The My Pet Pals workshops will give children the opportunity to learn about different types of fish, the importance of live plants in tanks and the difference between top and bottom feeders. There will also be an opportunity for children to meet a range of small animals.

The 45-minute sessions will run every day from Saturday 23rd March until Sunday 14th April (excluding Easter Sunday) and are available to book from Saturday 16th March. The free sessions will be hosted by Pets at Home’s friendly expert pet care advisors and will run in the majority of stores from 2pm each day.

Families are invited to come along and join the free workshops which include fun, educational activity sheets and helpful tips on how to care for fish. Kids will also be invited to hold small animals, such as guinea pigs and rats, and learn about their welfare needs.

Kathryn Patel, Head of Pets at Pets at Home, said: “The My Pet Pals programme is the perfect way to educate children on caring for the fish, small animals and wildlife we see outside and in our gardens, and is also a free way to keep them entertained over half term. Our in-store pet care advisors will be on hand to explain the needs of the different animals, including the different species and the importance of live plants in tanks. Over the years, our My Pet Pals programme has educated more than 400,000 children, helping to create future responsible pet owners.”
